The next Good News at 6:00 is on Sunday, May 4, with hope as its theme:
What does your heart hunger for and do you believe you will be satisfied? Not hungers like “I want a nice vacation, or a raise, or a better economy,” but hungers that are deeply felt needs like peace, spiritual security and contentment, or answers to questions of injustice and the like. Perhaps most of us are too distracted and busy to acknowledge
these kinds of deep hungers and we haven’t a clue about whether or not they will be satisfied. But if we silence ourselves long enough to hear the kinds of prayers our deep voices utter we might hear the same kinds of cries that we read in the Psalms or the prophets or from those who approached Jesus for healing and answers. All of these are about hope. Not the shallow hopes we can quickly identify, but the hope that trusts God to deliver and provide. Such hope is not flimsy, but is faith with fortitude. On May 4 at the Good News at 6 worship gathering our theme will be “Hope that does not disappoint.” Join your voice with others as we sing and worship and reflect on the sovereign promises of God who is the foundation of our hope.
