We believe those who claim “Jesus is Lord” are the church called by the Holy Spirit as a demonstration and instrument of God’s mission in the world. We are a caring community of Christians
devoted in joyful worship
and service to Jesus Christ,
called by Him to reach out
to all people
so together we may:
• KNOW God’s saving grace and call on our lives
• GROW in devoted discipleship
• SHOW our faithful thanksgiving
• SOW Gospel seeds of hope and love

Welcome! Our site has multiple opportunities to explore and learn as much as you care to about Westminster: its ministry, history, passion, and mission. We are a church organization, but first we’re a people gathered in grace.
My experience of the people of Westminster continues to surprise and delight me. I am proud to be a part of such a group of people who are confident of God’s love in Jesus Christ while maintaining an inquisitive spirit of learning and engaging God’s word and call. If you’re hungry for something more than the diet of a culture fed on fragments, but not sure if you’re ready for church, then we hope you’ll visit us. Westminster is not the stereotypical church.
We’re passionate about worship, mission and fellowship – a deep and meaningful spirit of love, learning and living. We’re serious and relaxed, bold and humble, confident without being arrogant or thinking we’ve got it all together, spiritual without being overly religious. We’re grateful that God, as the master potter, is still shaping us.
We’re open to the changes that are occurring around us, without being swept away by the fads that come and go. We’re aware that the church we inherited is not the church we’ll pass on to the next generation. We’re excited to be a part of what God is doing in the world at the beginning of the twenty-first century.
We hope you’ll join us in worship and conversation. We’re always interested in the insights, questions, gifts and talents others bring that broaden our experience of God’s grace.
Peace,
Stephen Carl, Pastor

Westminster Presbyterian Church is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA).
The Presbyterian form of government is representational. The governing body of a local congregation is known as the session. Representatives from the sessions of each church in a given area form a presbytery. Westminster belongs to the Presbytery of Detroit. Representatives from each presbytery are sent annually to the General Assembly, our national ruling body. In addition, regional issues are addressed by synods; Westminster belongs to the Synod of the Covenant, which covers the states of Michigan and Ohio.
News about the denomination can be found in the magazine Presbyterians Today, from the Presbyterian News Service and from PC(USA) Mission Workers’ newsletters. (see RSS feeds below).
